An Android phone

There a variety of products on market in our countries; some of which may not be genuine ranging from household items to electrical appliances and a wide range of other common stuff. Phones are some other thing that has been duplicated to the fullest due to their increased demand worldwide.

Duplications have been made on phones of various companies and types. Those of Android and iPhone are affected. The Nokia, Itel and Tecno phones have also not been left behind. It is very common to find a Nokia phone but with a start up ringtone of a Tecno phone plus many other anomalies. This is all evidence that shows abundance of fake and duplicated phones on market.

We are here to save your money from going to those conmen and ensure you get the genuine phone you wish to own. Here are some of the ways you can use to identify a fake and duplicated phone at your exposure.

Appearance of some Samsung phones

1. Checking it's physical appearance:  down you walk to that phone seller, make sure you have done appropriate research on the phone you want to buy. There are easily identifiable features you would go knowing. If your research showed the phone has a glass screen but you see plastic, then it's fake.

2. Checking it's IMEI

To know your phone's IMEI, just dial *#06# then you will receive it. For Android users, it is at the back of your phones. You can use that IMEI to verify your phone's information on the website of the company. If the information you're receiving is of another phone type, then it's fake.

3. Checking serial number

You can get this from the "About phone" section. For iPhone eusers, you can verify it on it's website. If it shows, "We’re sorry, but this serial number is not valid,” it is likely that your iPhone is fake.

4. Checking phone software

There are very common apps phones of different kinds have. For instance iPhones do not have Google playstore but an iTunes appstore. There are many iPhones on market yet they are using Android operating system. Make sure you know the differences and specifications in software.

5. Read information on the packaging

Some important information is put on the packaging box of the phone; so try to compare and contrast. If there's any difference, it's fake.

6. Check brand name and logo

Most fake phones don't use the exact trademark of the original companies but a similar thing like:

Instead of Huawei: Hauwei

Instead of Samsung: Samsang

Plus many others you know of.

7. Check phone battery and charger

Carefully spot the Battery and Charger of the Phone. Duplicates can never afford to use Original Battery and Charger but rather cheaper and similar ones.

8. Check the warranty

Take time to read the warranty certificate. Never trust any oral agreement. Fake phones offer a shorter warranty period because they cannot guarantee it will last so long.
